Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday: A Prelude to Holy Week
Today marks the beginning of Holy Week, leading us towards the celebration of Easter Sunday. Palm Sunday holds special significance as it commemorates Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Crowds greeted him with palm branches, shouting "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
This event fulfills the prophecy from the book of Zechariah, "Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey." (Zechariah 9:9)
Palm Sunday symbolizes the recognition of Jesus as the promised Messiah and the anticipation of the salvation he would bring. Let's reflect on the significance of this day as we embark on the journey of Holy Week.
